How do I access a specific journal from the library, like JAMA or New England Journal of Medicine?

Answer

  1. First determine if the library holds a subscription to the journal. To do this, go to the School of Medicine Libraries home page, and click on the Ejournals link.
  2. Enter the journal title (i.e. JAMA or New England Journal of Medicine) in the search box.
  3. Click on the appropriate link. If you are outside of the UTRGV network, you will be prompted to login with your UTRGV email address and password.
  4. If the journal does not appear in the search results, it is likely that the library does not have a subscription. However, please contact library staff to confirm.
  5. Another option is to install the Browzine app to your mobile device. Browzine allows you to browse thousands of journals available from the UTRGV Libraries.
